First is the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (ICAR) certification. This is a national recognized collision repair certification that is the preferred credential by most employers nationwide. Second is the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. While not specifically a collision repair certification, the ASE is recognized as specialized training in the automotive industry. If you have either or both of these credentials, additional training in collision repair training/schools will add to your knowledge in the field and further your chances of finding employment.
