Industrial building design is a branch of architectural studies that focuses specifically on designing and constructing spaces and products that are intended for industrial, rather than commercial use. Industrial designers combine artistic design skills, business and management skills, and engineering knowledge to create products used by industries in a variety of business sectors.

A Specific Degree for Specific Work
In order to begin work in industrial building design, you need to have at least a bachelor’s degree in industrial building design. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the outlook for careers in industrial building design is expected to grow at about the same rate as other occupations between now and 2014. However, they also expect that there will be a lot of competition for these jobs because a lot of people with these skills which means that you might need advanced schooling and perhaps a master’s degree in this field in order to move quickly up the career ladder.
